Einstein Display at Wilson Library

In 2005, scientists all over the world have been celebrating the centenary of the theory of special relativity and the light-quantum hypothesis, both developed by Albert Einstein in 1905. The celebrations also mark the 50th anniversary of Einstein's death in 1955. Wilson Library is honoring Einstein with its current exhibit in the lobby display cases. Come on in and take a look!

Thanksgiving Hours

Wilson Library will have special hours for the Thanksgiving holiday. On Wednesday, Nov. 23, the library will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25. Normal service hours of 8 a.m. to midnight will resume on Saturday, Nov. 26.

Electronic ASM Handbooks Available

The Electronic ASM Handbooks have been aquired by the library and are now available for all UMR affliates immediate use. In addition to being linked in the catalog, the ASM handbooks are also available from the electronic reference desk.

Faculty of 1000 Biology Trial

At the request of several biology faculty members, the library is announcing a trial of Faculty 1000 Biology, available immediately and lasting until December 7, 2005.

Faculty 1000 is the next generation literature awareness tool. It is a revolutionary new online research service that will comprehensively and systematically highlight and review the most interesting papers published in the biological sciences, based on the recommendations of a faculty of well over 1000 selected leading researchers.
