Celebrate Banned Books Week, September 23 - 30

Banned Books Week celebrates the freedom to express one's opinion, even if that opinion might be considered unorthodox or unpopular, and stresses the importance of ensuring the availability of those unorthodox or unpopular viewpoints to all who wish to read about them. Come in and take a look at Wilson Library's display of books that have been challenged or banned at libraries and schools throughout the country. Then check out a "banned book" and celebrate the freedom to read! For some titles you might want to read, take a look at the Radcliffe Publishing Course's list of the 100 best novels of the 20th century, 42 of which have been challenged or banned, according to the American Library Association.
