April is Jazz Appreciation Month, and the library is joining the chorus. We've put up a new display exploring Missouri's jazz heritage, and we invite you to stop by and check it out.
While New Orleans is rightly recognized as the cradle of jazz, Kansas City is where the sound grew up into the popular sound that would sweep the nation in the 1920s. We've put together photos and brief biographical sketches of Missouri's movers and shakers in the jazz explosion, and we hope you'll visit and join us in celebration.
