New general and business databases available

Wilson Library now has access to new database resources provided by the state of Missouri. Academic Onefile (and its complementary database, General Onefile) provides access to full text articles from academic journals, magazines, and newspapers. The Business and Company Resource Center provides detailed company and industry information, including company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, and articles.

Library closed July 3-4

In recognition of Independence Day, the library will be closed July 3-4, 2009. Normal hours will resume at 8 AM on Sunday, July 5.

Lexis-Nexis Statistical DataSets trial through June 30

Wilson Library has begun trial evaluation of a new product from Lexis Nexis, Statistical DataSets. This module allows users to easily create informative graphics from a large database of statistical information.

To access Statistical DataSets, go to Lexis-Nexis Statistical as usual and choose the "Customize Data" option.

Library cafe open for summer trial run

Wilson Library's Miner Break Cafe will be open for a summer trial run beginning Friday, June 12, through Thursday, July 2, serving coffee, cold drinks, smoothies, sub sandwiches, salads, pastries, and other snacks. If the trial period is successful, the coffee shop will remain open the rest of the summer. Hours during the trial will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m, Monday through Friday.

The library has acquired electronic access to the Wiley Encyclopedia of Chemical Biology. This resource provides researchers and advanced students with timely and authoritative review-type information. The articles in WECB illuminate the crucial role of chemistry and chemical techniques in the life sciences and support the information needs of researchers in the field of chemical biology.
